FINDING SUPPORT PATHWAYS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

You know what’s amazing about weight loss support?  Every single person I work with struggles to see the pathways that are right in front of them! It’s like we have blinders on.

I’m not sure why it is, but my clients see challenges ahead and literally can’t see the strategies that are also available. With weight loss, you need to talk about your struggles and allow others to help. Another perspective can often show the path you can’t see.

So many clients walk into one of my meetings or boot camps with what feels like an impossible challenge. Moreover, they’re certain there’s no way to handle it and that failure is inevitable, while others in the group see it so clearly and differently.

Group members throw out endless ideas about the small things to do to overcome the challenge. It’s like a miracle to watch what happens for the person struggling. Not only does she get all these new ideas that she didn’t think of on her own,  but also sifts through all of the possible solution to figure out which are most realistic for her to try. Talk about your challenges with a support system!

You will see the light at the end of the tunnel and in fact, you’ll walk out with a game plan and a hopeful attitude that creates success! There is ALWAYS another way to face a situation, but left alone we may never think of it. In essence, weight loss support takes the blinders off!

All things considered, there are endless ways to find support. To get you thinking, I have outlined some below. I’ll say again that each of you has a very specific type of support that’s most comfortable.

In brief, I recommend joining a group – it can be in person or online. All things considered, you owe it to yourself to at least give it a shot! Weight loss is an emotional, mental and physical battle best done with the support of outside eyes and ears helping you figure out what’s right under your nose.

A few options to consider as support pathways would be:

  • Private in-person coaching
  • Online coaching in groups or alone
  • Commercial weight loss programs that offer support
  • Social media support and motivation
  • Internet weight loss communities
  • Non-profit community organizations
  • Friends and family
  • Workout Buddies
